Simply Speaking

It is here at last. The autumnal equinox for the northern hemisphere! (A.K.A. - Fall) This is a wonderful thing for people like me. People, that is, whose hair will not stay and frizzes in this North Florida heat and humidity. The only thing is I’m not so sure Mother Nature has yet to receive the message that change is suppose to be in the air. Which leads me to want to walk outside and tell the weather to lighten-up, literally.

Unfortunately, that will not work. There are some things that I cannot seem to change by simply talking to it (like my kids, lol). But there are other things I have full authority to speak to and command to change. Remember my last posting regarding the line in In Christ Alone. We visited the fact that Christ commands our destiny and because Christ is the Commander in Chief then He has all authority. (God has put all things under the authority of Christ- Ephesians 1:22). But what is so great is Christ does not keep it for Himself. In Luke 10:19 He told the disciples, “I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy.”

So how do we exercise our authority? The same way God did in the first book of the Bible. The same way I would love to change the weather. Simply command it by using your voice. Nine times in Genesis chapter 1 you find these words, “And God said….” and something great was created. Proverbs 18:21 tells us that life and death are in the power of our tongues. Our words have more power than we could ever imagine. As a matter of fact, the pathway to salvation requires confession of the mouth (Romans 10:9).

So let me encourage you (and me) today. Whatever may be obstructing your path, simply speak and command it to move. Not because of your great power, but because of your belief in the One who has given you an all-access-pass to the power, dominion and authority you will ever need. In Matthew 17:20 Jesus again tells his disciples, “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible!”

Do we believe it?

Then let’s start speaking it!

Praying you have a Wonder Fall Day!
Tina
