Dream a Little Dream

God’s dream for you is bigger than you can imagine!

Do you wonder how anything “big” could ever be produced from your ordinary life?

Here is a thought for us, we all are ordinary.

Years ago there was a woman who just wanted to simply love and care for the poor and less fortunate. Through her ordinary service she made an extraordinary impact on not just Calcutta, but the world and in 1979 Mother Teresa won the Nobel Peace Prize and India's highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna, in 1980 for her humanitarian work.

God wants to do something huge through you and me too.

In Matthew, Jesus shared a story about a master who entrust part of his treasure to three of his servants while away on a trip. Upon his return, he calls the servants together to see what they’ve done with his money. Two made the money grow but one did nothing because he was afraid of losing it. The two are commended and the other was condemned.

For the two who were good stewards, Jesus said these words, “Well done, good and faithful servant!…” Matthew 25:21

Doing big things for God does not mean that you have to radically change your life, just live the life you have in front of you. Listen to the words of Mother Teresa, “Be faithful in the small things, and God will entrust more to you as you mature and grow in your faith.”

I’m sure she never could have imagined the dreams God had for life, she was just simply doing the things God placed in her heart.

So if you long and desire to do big things for God, just be faithful with what He has called you to today, even if that is just taking care of your home and family.

What does the rest of verse 21 say?

“...because you were loyal with small things, I will let you care for much greater things. Come and share my joy with me.”

Living God's dream is a joy greater than we could ever imagine!

Reflection:

Are you presently doing the task that God has called you to today? Are you doing it to the best of your ability for Him?

When we believe God truly has big plans for our lives it may require us to make some changes. What changes do you know you need to start making today so you can live God’s dreams tomorrow?

Have a great Friday!

Mother Teresa is such an inspiration to so many people. She did what she did, not for attention, but because she had compassion and felt CALLED to this ministry. The Bible says we are to be the 'salt' of the earth first then the 'light'. So many people want to 'shine' before they've ever
been 'salt' or seasoned anybodies life. We need to do thing's God's way and not get the cart before the horse.
